Publication: Thinking Ahead: A handbook to help families of
people with learning difficulties in Glasgow think about planning for
the future and keeping
control when circumstances change.

Quarriers and SHS Trust are pleased to announce the publication of Thinking
Ahead, a guide for families with people with learning difficulties,
who would like to worry less about the future, to hope and plan more
with and for the person with learning difficulties. It is particularly
designed for people who live in or around the Greater Glasgow area,
but much of the information and approaches will be relevant in other
locations.

Individual chapters cover priority areas in planning for the future,
as identified by parents of adults with learning difficulties: building
trusting relationships, housing, support, health, financial and legal
safeguards and more. Each chapter offers information, inspirational stories
and ideas, and signposts for places you can visit or telephone to get
more information. The handbook does not provide all the answers, but
it will provide some starting point for making plans - one step at a
time.

A
limited number of free copies are available from SHS Trust. For our
