Research

The goal of any research we undertake at SHS is to empower those people at risk of exclusion to carry out their own research and analysis, develop action and advocacy plans and access the resources and support they need implement them. In light of this we endeavour to work towards a research programme that catalyses action among people at risk of exclusion in Scotland, in order to challenge injustice and establish new ways of thinking, being and doing among peers, voluntary and service organisations, government and society generally. The result of this work, we hope, is an ever-increasing number of empowered people from excluded groups with the confidence and skills to research, analyse and articulate their perspective in order to lever change and take action to transfer these skills to others.
